Facility Use Guidelines & Policies

In order to provide a safe environment for all our participants, who utilize the YMCA facilities, the following facility use guidelines have been developed. We greatly appreciate the cooperation of all our members in creating a safe atmosphere at the YMCA.

MEMBERSHIP CARD OR PHOTO ID REQUIRED TO USE ALL YMCA FACILITIES

We reserve the right to enforce all YMCA policies. Failure to adhere to any and all of these may result in loss of membership privileges. Please ask your friendly front desk staff if you have any questions!

Consult the gym and pool schedules for appropriate activities and weekend schedule.


Broadview   
Children 13 and younger are welcome in the facilities weekdays before 1:30 pm with direct adult supervision.

Children age 8+ may use the facility independently weekdays after 1:30 pm and anytime on the weekends.

Downtown   
Children 13 and younger are welcome in the facilities weekdays before 1:30pm with direct adult supervision.

Children age 8+ may use the facility independently weekdays after 1:30pm and anytime Saturdays.

East Side     
Children age 8+ are welcome in the facility all open hours.

Children under age 8 must have direct adult supervision at all times.

West Side   
Children age 8+ are welcome in the facility all open hours.

Children under age 8 must have direct adult supervision at all times.

Open to YMCA Members and guests, unless specified otherwise.


Open Gym      
Age 8+ may use gym alone.
Ages 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the gym.
NO ORGANIZED GAMES.

Basketball          “Cross-Court" and “Full Court” games are to be played during designated times only. Adult (ages 19+), Adult/Teen (ages 16+) or Teen (ages 13-18).

This may be scheduled as MEMBERS ONLY.

Youth/Family  
Families (adult/child) and/or children ages 8 and older.

Power Zones Ages 8-13. See Youth & Family Activities for details.
Organized activities changing daily, supervised by Y staff.

Open to YMCA Members and guests, unless specified otherwise. Proper swim attire required when in the pool (swim suits/swim trunks; nothing made of cotton). This does not include: t-shirts, shorts, tank-tops, anything that is not made of swim material.


Open Swim  
Ages 8+ may swim alone.

Ages 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water.

Community  
Swim  
Open to the community for a small fee.

Family Swim Children must be accompanied by an adult in the water.

Lap Swim
(Circle Swim)          
Ages 14+ may swim alone.

Ages 8-13 must be accompanied by a parent/adult on deck or in the water.

Lap lanes will be shared; multiple people may use a lane at the same time for lap swimming when space is limited

Toys & Equipment    
The YMCA will provide toys & equipment during Open/Family swim times.
Please do not bring items from home.

Kids Day Out   
Kids in our School Age Child Care program use the pool at scheduled times on days off school

Slide Guidelines & Rules

At the YMCA we care about your safety. Please be aware of the following guidelines:

•  Ride down the slide feet first while in a sitting position or lying on your back  
•  Do not stand, kneel or stop in the slide, and no running up the slide
•  Keep your hands and feet inside while riding down the slide
•  Stand single file on the slide platform to wait for your turn
•  After entering the water, immediately clear the area at the bottom of the slide
•  The lifeguards on duty will make all decisions regarding safety issues on the slide

When can a child ride down the slide alone?
Must meet height requirement of 4’ AND not need a floatation device to swim;  AND they are comfortable entering the drop zone alone.

When can child/parent ride down the slide together?
If child does not meet the height requirement, needs a floatation device to swim, or feels uncomfortable exiting the drop zone alone, then parent must ride down with child. For safety, we do not allow catching children at the bottom of the slide.


Whirlpool Guidelines & Rules

At the YMCA we care about your safety. Please be aware of the following health guidelines:

Ages 14+ may use the whirlpool at any time.

Per Wisconsin state codes, children under 6 yrs of age are not permitted. Ages 6-13 may use the whirlpool during Family Swim when accompanied by a parent.

People suffering from heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure or women who are pregnant should not use the whirlpool. Lengthy exposure may be hazardous to your health and may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting.

Track                   
Ages 8+ may use the track at any time.

Ages 6-7 may use the track supervised by an adult.

For you and your child’s protection please, NO strollers on the track.

Lifestyle
Center &
Free Weight Room

Age 14+ may use anytime. YMCA orientations highly recommended.

Ages 11-13 may use any time only if passed Youth LSC Orientation & have a card/lanyard as proof.

Fitness Classes 

Ages 14+   Adult Fitness Classes

Ages 8-13  Youth Fitness Classes

Ages 6+  Family Fitness Classes – Must be accompanied by an adult

Raquetball           
Ages 8+ may use the racquetball courts at any time.

Ages 6-7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Protective eyewear highly recommended.

The use of all digital cameras, camcorders, cell phones and other electronic devices capable of producing an image are prohibited in all locker rooms and all restrooms.


Green/Family
Locker Areas
Persons w/disabilities desiring privacy; adults accompanying opposite sex children ages 7 & under.

Men and Women Adult Locker Areas Ages 19 and older only.

Women/Girls
Locker Area
Females ages 14 and older.
Females ages 6-13 must be accompanied by a female adult.

Men/Boys 
Locker Areas
Males ages 14 and older.
Males ages 8-13 must be accompanied by a male adult.

Youth Female
Locker Areas
Females ages 8-13.
Children 7 and younger when accompanied by a female adult

Youth Male
Locker Areas
Males ages 8-13.
Children 7 and younger when accompanied by a male adult


RESPECT ONE ANOTHER  

Unsportsmanlike conduct, abusive language, fighting, use of tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs, loitering, soliciting or any other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

RESPECT MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES

Membership cards are non-transferable. Members are responsible for your guests’ behavior. Please refer to our YMCA facility schedule for appropriate usage guidelines and policies.

RESPECT PROPERTY

Stealing or damaging property or facilities will result in loss of privileges. Police will be contacted immediately. Please secure possessions in a locked locker.



Informed Consent for Program Participation:
All forms of physical activity involve a risk of injury. By voluntary participation in YMCA programs and activities, you assume and accept any and all risks of injury related to that activity.

The YMCA provides membership and program services to anyone regardless of ability to pay. Financial assistance is made possible through contributions to our Annual Campaign. For information, call 920 436  9622.
