Halloween at the Y 2014
Around 350 people enjoyed loads of carnival games and prizes, expert face painters, Mad Scientist Spooky Lab, bounce houses, skeleton craft, and make-your-own treat mix at the Broadview Y. Plus, kids got to search for the numbered pumpkins throughout the building to earn a special prize and also had the chance to guess the weight of a pumpkin and number of candy corns in a jar.
Around 1,000 people attended enjoyed the costume giveaway, free dinner, carnival games, gymnastics and more at the Downtown Y on Saturday, October 18th. 350 costumes were distributed to the smiles and thanks of happy children. Families were lining up 2 hours in advance with lawn chairs to receive these costumes!
And this was just from the Broadview and Downtown Y's - there was even more fun held at the West and East Side Y's! Remember, we are still accepting costumes for the 2015 event. Did you know that 100 kids were turned away from receiving a costume this year? Let’s fill up the bins with after Halloween sales and used costumes. Look at the pictures below to see the smiling faces of the children who received costumes!
