Successful Spooky Family Fun • 2015 Halloween at the Y

Our annual Halloween at the Y events have come and gone, but we can still sense the spirit (and spirits?) from the hours of family fun. This year, we welcomed 2,650 guests for our annual events at our four Y centers. There were sightings of superheros, ninjas, princesses and pirates enjoying carnival games, dance parties, bounce houses, spooky rooms, GaGa, face painting and so much spooky fun that it is too much to list! Families enjoyed a free Y event the focused upon healthy and active fun – truly a reflection of our promise to Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

Through the generosity of the community and the Shopko Foundation, the annual costume giveaway at the Downtown Y event was a highlight of the events, with over 300 costumes distributed to children.
Squeals of excitement could be heard when they walked into the room to choose the perfect costume for Halloween with the help of their “personal shoppers”, our wonderful volunteers. The volume of their squeals were only matched by the size of their smiles when they emerged from the room to show off their new costume to their family and friends.
The success of Halloween at the Y is because of our dedicated staff and community volunteers, who came out to help lead carnival games, face paint, and support this event.  We are so grateful to them for creating more Y memories for children and families in our community. Another incredible year of spooky fun at the Y is history! Check out the videos of our 2015 Halloween at the Y below!
