Halloween at the Y 2016

Halloween At The Y WEBE

Successful Spooky Family Fun • 2016 Halloween at the Y

Our annual Halloween at the Y events for 2016 are now history, but we can still sense the spirit (and spirits?) from the hours of family fun. This year, we welcomed 2,300 guests for our events at three of our Y centers. With the exciting Downtown Y renovation, the festivities there took the year off, but will be back in 2017 in our new haunts. There were sightings of superheros, ninjas, princesses enjoying carnival games, magicians, bounce houses, spooky rooms, GaGa, face painting and so much spooky fun that it is too much to list!

Through the generosity of our Y members and the Shopko Foundation, the annual costume giveaway at the Downtown Y event was another huge success, with over 250 costumes distributed to children. Their excitement when they walked into the room to choose the perfect costume with the help of their “personal shoppers”, our wonderful volunteers, was matched only by the size of their smiles as they sprinted from the room to show off their new costume to their family and friends.

The success of Halloween at the Y is because of our dedicated staff and community volunteers, who came out to help lead carnival games, face paint, and support this free, family-centered event. We are so grateful to them for creating more Y memories for children and families in our community.  Learn more about Halloween at the Y here.
