Frequently Asked Questions

When can I register for summer camp?

  • Registration for 2013 is currently open.

How do I register my camper?

  • Registration will be available online, by phone (920.436.9570) and in person at the West Side YMCA.

How do I register my Teen Leader (Junior Counselor)?

  • Simply register as you would any other camper.

Can my child register with a friend?

  • Yes! You can make a buddy request when you register.

Can my child attend more than one week of camp?

  • Of course! It's very common for us to see kids more than once during the summer. In that case, we try to place your camper with different counselors throughout the summer while they enjoy new groups of kids each week. Weekly themes keep things exciting, too.

What additional forms do all children need on file prior to starting his or her first day of camp?

  • Your child will need a 2013 Health Form on file in the KIDS Camp Office prior to their first day of camp. (See the Summer Camp Forms section to download this form.)

What does my child need to bring with them to camp?

  • The recommended daily packing list includes a healthy bag lunch, a water bottle, sturdy shoes (flip flops are not suitable for active play), swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and bug repellant. Please dress according to the weather and label all items with the child’s name. Kids Camp provides a morning and afternoon snack each day.
  • Be sure to read the Parent Handbook.

What if my child requires medication while at camp?

  • All medication that will accompany your child to camp needs to be in its original container and a medication authorization form must be filled out. (See the Summer Camp Forms section to download this form.)

This year has been tough for us financially. Is there anything we can do to make the camp fees more manageable for our family?

  • Absolutely. We believe so strongly in the power of the camp experience that we are prepared to work with you in order to bring your child to camp. Financial aid is available through the Green Bay YMCA and is made possible by the YMCA's annual Strong Kids campaign. To apply for financial assistance, please contact us at 920.436.9675. All information is treated confidentially.
