At the Greater Green Bay Y, we offer dance, gymnastics, sports and swim classes for preschool aged children including parent-child classes that you can enjoy with your child!
Parent/Child Dance ages 2-3
Get ready to Boogie! Finally a dance class where you get to dance with your child. Partner your child in a variety of fun, exciting dances as you spend quality time dancing to the beat.
Parent/Child Gymnastics ages 2-3
Is your child always upside down or climbing the furniture? Have fun with your child as you explore the beginnings of gymnastics. Great for toddlers or for the child not quite ready to be on their own. Spotting techniques will be introduced on all four events.
Parent/Child Sports ages 2-3
Help your child learn the basics of a medley of sports. Drills and activities are paired with teamwork to allow you and your child to experience sports in an age appropriate environment.
Parent/Child Swim ages 6 months-4 yrs
While following guidance from an instructor, you will bond with your child while they experience, explore and enjoy the water.
Ballet, Tap, Jazz
Introduction to the art of dance focusing on the basics of ballet, tap and jazz. Develop and enhance gross motor skills, listening skills, and positive peer interaction. Classes include fun and easy dance steps that change each session. Music and props are used to build coordination and self-esteem. The last day of class is an informal observation day.
Learn the basics of all four gymnastics events: vault, bars, beam, and floor. Throughout the year, your child will increase in strength, flexibility, coordination, and self-confidence while they tumble, swing and have fun.
Learn basic sport skills through age appropriate activities. Sport classes create a foundation for a positive lifetime sports experience. Sports offered vary by session and center.
Preschool swimmers experience activities that will help them be confident in the water. They will also be introduced to the beginnings of basic stroke development.
Ballet, Tap, Jazz
Learn the basic techniques and names for ballet, tap and jazz dance steps. Emphasis is placed on proper body placement, learning steps to music, and having fun. The final class is an informal observation day.
Continue to grow in your gymnastics skills and work on more refined movements on all four events. No prior gymnastics experience necessary.
Check out our seasonal sports offered through our Youth Sports Leagues. Youth Sports are for ages 5-6 and usually meet Saturdays.
At the Y, we believe the ability to swim is a critical life skill for every child and teen. In swim lessons, we use a variety of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. Qualified instructors meets kids at their own level, help families set achievable goals and celebrate all successes. During all swim lessons, children will find opportunities to learn stroke development, personal safety, water sports, rescue and personal growth while incorporating the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility.
