David loves seeing members at the Y and has been volunteering behind the front desk for the past 2 and a half years. A former Y staff member encouraged David to volunteer at the Y and he's thankful he has a way to spend his retirement.
"The Y is a great place to volunteer and if you have trouble, someone will help you."

  The Y has been a very important part of Mary Beth's life and the life of her family. As a Y volunteer, many of Mary Beth's most memorable experiences stem from the touching stories shared during the Strong Kids Campaign. When Mary Beth isn't working she spends her time with her children, reading and going on weekend escapes to Washington Island. 
"Every effort-big or little- counts. You just need to make the effort."

For the past five years, Nancy has been walking to the Y to volunteer behind the front desk. She remembers the members' and staffs' personalities (and their names too!). When Nancy is not volunteering, she can be found at the movies, the theater or reading.
