The Green Bay Y, in a collaborative partnership with the Green Bay Public Schools, operates after-school programs at 7 area elementary schools. A 21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC), affectionately called 21C, offers academic, health and wellness, and enrichment opportunities to students during after school hours at Howe, Eisenhower, Sullivan, Tank, Doty, Baird & Beaumont Elementary schools. The purpose of the program is to deliver strengths based programs that provide expanded learning opportunities for children, particularly students who attend high poverty and low performing schools. The 21C program offer students a broad array of activities that complements their regular academic programs and seeks to close the achievement gap in core academic areas, as well as build their social emotional competencies. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive and positive space for our afterschool program children to receive academic support and grow in their social emotional learning.

In addition to support and resources from the Green Bay Area Public Schools, our 21CCLC afterschool programs partner with over 25 community organizations, schools and universities to deliver extended learning opportunities in areas such as STEM, arts and theatre, service learning, leadership, career and college readiness, and so much more. Additionally, several of our sites were selected as recipients of initiatives and grants from YMCA of the USA in the areas of the Achievement Gap and Character Development Learning Institute. The success of our 21CCLC programs is due to the collective impact of a community that cares about the present and future of our kids.
