How to Feel Normal During Not-So-Normal Times | Greater Green Bay YMCA Skip to main content

How are we doing today you guys?! This is a quick check in on all you beautiful people!

I know this time is uncertain, and I will be the first to admit that I am feeling a bit stressed out. Just remember, this is temporary. This will pass.

I have some tips that I have been using to keep my life feeling somewhat normal at home when I cant be at the Y!

Keep a routine
This is so important! Just the little things like taking a shower, changing your clothes, going to bed and waking up at set times. Today, I straightened my hair and put on a bit of make-up!

Exercise!
I can't stress this enough. Go outside for 30 minutes for a walk! Even with the Safer at Home Order. We are still allowed to go outside for some fresh air. Or just dance in your living room! I have been showing my cats my AMAZING dance skills.

Limit the time you watch the news/go on social media
It's easy to get sucked into all the doom and gloom lately. Try to limit the amount of time you are spending on social media and watching the news. Read a book, watch a funny movie, play games!

Keep in contact!
You don't have to go to someone's house to see them. Talk on the phone, host a virtual dinner party, or Facetime to get some quality friend and family time. The worst you can do is isolate yourself socially right now.

If anyone needs someone to talk to, please reach out! I would be more than happy to talk with you :) You are amazing and I will see you at the Y soon!
