A modern-day superhero, Lura is able to make anyone smile. Her passion is helping others and her involvement both at the Y and volunteering in the community shows that.
When at the Y, Lura is the host for coffee chats for seniors where she shares time, stories, silly songs and plays games with the members. Outside of the Y, she volunteers at numerous organizations including St. John's Evangelist Homeless Shelter where she organizes donations, House of Hope for the Annual Drive and Hygiene Drive, College Ready where she reviews applications and aids in the award ceremony, St. Vincent De Paul's food pantry, and at her parish picnic.
"I am so blessed to be able to offer my time and talent to help out those in need. I am grateful for our generous community and hope to be involved many years from now," she says.
