The Journey to Wellness is a brand-new initiative designed to bring individuals, families, and the community together for a day of health-focused learning, support, and empowerment. This collaborative event, hosted by the Greater Green Bay YMCA and Emplify Health by Bellin, is the first of many opportunities to help you take control of your health and well-being.
At Journey to Wellness, you’ll find expert-led discussions, community resources, and interactive experiences designed to support people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Whether you’re seeking guidance on nutrition, heart health, exercise, or overall wellness, this event provides the tools and information you need to thrive.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
We’re excited to introduce a lineup of expert speakers who will share valuable insights on nutrition, heart health, and fitness strategies. These engaging sessions will provide practical knowledge to help you make informed choices about your health.
9:15 am: Nutrition and Cancer
Speaker: Jill Roup, RD – Emplify Health by Bellin
Jill Roup is a registered dietitian/nutritionist specializing in oncology nutrition. With over 20 years of experience at Bellin Health, Jill is passionate about supporting cancer patients through good nutrition. She will discuss how dietary habits can impact cancer treatment and recovery, helping individuals manage side effects and maintain strength throughout their journey.
11:15 am: Program Training Strategies
Speaker: Nate Vandervest – Emplify Health by Bellin, Running Coach, CSCS, CES
A former Division I cross-country runner, Nate is dedicated to helping individuals optimize their running performance. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete, he will share proven training techniques to enhance endurance, speed, and overall fitness. His expertise in strength training and corrective exercise sets him apart, making his session a must for anyone looking to improve their running technique.

Speaker: Sawyer Rode – Greater Green Bay YMCA, NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer
Sawyer specializes in corrective exercise, small group training, and athletic strength and conditioning. His session will provide insights on training techniques that cater to all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced athletes.

Field Fest at Historic City Stadium – A Free Family EventJoin the Greater Green Bay YMCA and the City of Green Bay for Field Fest, a free community event celebrating the excitement of football and family fun! Held at Historic City Stadium, where the Green Bay Packers played from 1925 to 1956, this event offers youth and families the chance to test their skills with eight football-inspired challenges, including:
