KIDS Camp 2019 Weekly Theme Descriptions

In addition to typical daily camp activities, each week at KIDS Camp offers a fun theme. Check them out below!

Roll Into Summer Week 1 (June 10-14)

School’s out and the camp fun can begin! We are going to be “rolling” in the good times as we make new friends and greet the old ones. Campers will coast on down to the Rola Rena* to experience fun on four wheels. Come explore all the fun that camp has to offer.

Sports of All Sorts Week 2 (June 17-21)

Play ball! This week of camp is all about having a ball. Campers will explore all sorts of sports, from the familiar to the weird and wacky. We will make some sports inspired crafts and fine tune our skills with a field trip to Titletown Park*. Start practicing your cheers!

Wet 'N Wild Week 3 (June 24-28)

Summer is in full swing and it’s time to get wild. Campers will get wet in a variety of ways and learn all about the creatures that call the water home. Later in the week campers will head over to the Resch Aquatic Center* to get even wetter. Who says only sea creatures can enjoy the water?

Party in the USA Week 4 (July 1-3, Mon-Weds)

U-S-A! U-S-A! Let’s party, celebrating the USA and our camp mascot, Platy’s, birthday! There will be patriotic crafts, fun tie dye projects, and a rockin’ birthday party. Everyone’s invited to this celebration. Don’t forget to wear your red, white and blue!

Beach Bash Week 5 (July 8-12)

Let’s take camp to the beach! Campers can make some awesome sand art, do a little limbo, and play some beach games. Towel volleyball anyone? The excitement will continue down at Bay Beach Amusement Park*. The fun in the sun never stops!

Amazing Race Week 6 (July 15-19)

Get your game face on! This week, campers will compete in a camp wide amazing race, challenging themselves and their teammates. Campers will create team banners and participate in exciting events, from three legged races to obstacle courses to a team scavenger hunt. Everyone comes out a winner during this amazing race!

Nature Calls Week 7 (July 22-26)

Let’s explore the great outdoors! Campers will discover the wonderful natural world around them this week. They will make some nature inspired crafts, like bird feeders, and go on a nature walk, looking for bugs. Campers will continue the hunt down at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary*. The learning never stops in nature.

Super Kicks Week 8 (July 29-August 2)

Get ready to kick in the fun this week! Kim’s Tae Kwon Do returns to provide professional instruction, teaching campers basic tae kwon do skills. Join us for the Parent Show on Friday as the campers show off their newly acquired abilities. Hi-ya!

Make A Splash Week 9 (August 5-9)

Cannon ball! Water is the name of the game this week. From water balloon races to water gaga to water limbo no one stays dry. An expedition to the Resch Aquatic Center* continues the excitement. Campers will have a blast making a splash!

KC Campout Week 10 (August 12-16)

This week campers will participate in all the old camp games and some new favorites too! Capture the flag, gaga, and tag all make an appearance this week. Favorite camp crafts will be around too, like friendship bracelets and tie dye. Plus, all the campers will get to have s’mores. This week, camp is the place to be.

Camp Rewind Week 11 (August 19-23)

Let’s celebrate the end of camp by rewinding the summer! We will revisit all of the campers’ favorite activities and remember all the fun we had this summer. We continue making memories with a trip to Duck Creek Golf Center*. Sure the end of summer is sad but we can always rewind the memories!

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can my child register with a friend?
Yes! You can make a buddy request when you register.

  2. Can my child attend more than one week of camp?
Of course! It's very common for us to see kids more than once during the summer. In that case, we try to place your camper with different counselors throughout the summer while they enjoy new groups of kids each week. Weekly themes keep things exciting, too.

  3. What does my child need to bring with them to camp?
The recommended daily packing list includes a healthy bag lunch, a water bottle, sturdy shoes (flip flops are not suitable for active play), swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen. Please dress according to the weather and label all items with the child's name. Kids Camp provides a morning and afternoon snack each day. Please be sure to read the Parent Handbook.

  4. What additional forms does my child need on file prior to starting his or her first day of camp?
Your child will need a 2019 Day Camp Health Form on file in the KIDS Camp office prior to their first day of camp.

  5. What if my child requires medication while at camp?
All medication that will accompany your child to camp needs to be in its original container and a Medication Authorization Form must be filled out.
