Group Exercise Class Descriptions
Each week, the Y offers 100s of group exercise classes at our four locations including cycling, kickboxing, step, Zumba® and more! As a benefit to our members, the below classes are included FREE with your Y membership.
Active Together ages 14+
Activate Your Life in only one hour! Active Together gives you all the training you need - cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility - in just one hour. Get stronger and healthier with inspiring music, adjustable dumbbells, weight plates, body weight, and simple athletic movements. Express class offered (30 minutes).
Aqua Dance Blast ages 14+
Dance to the beat of the music in the water! Enjoy the fun of dancing with little or no impact on the joints in this exciting and invigorating choreographed dance fitness class. This is a great cardiovascular workout that is done in shallow water. Aqua Dance Blast uses the water's natural resistance to get your heart rate up. Swimming skills not required.
This class is a 45-minute cardio workout known as the Zumba “pool party”. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.
Balance & Flex Together ages 14+
Grow longer and stronger with an invigorating 60-minute mind-body workout. Incorporating yoga and Pilates fundamentals with athletic training for balance, mobility, flexibility, and core. Emotive music drives the experience as you breathe and sweat through this full-body fitness journey. Express class offered (30 minutes).
Cardio Kickboxing ages 14+
An exciting 45 - 60-minute, high-energy workout using the fundamentals of boxing. Includes shadowboxing, kicks and blocks, jumping rope, coordination skills and upper body muscle toning - all to "hard-hitting" music!
Cardio Strength Interval ages 14+
This 45 - 60-minute class will give you a total body workout combining a variety of training techniques including Tabata Training (30 second bursts), HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), and Circuit Training (using stations). Each class follows an interval format incorporating both cardio and strength exercises designed for any level. Using a variety of equipment you can expect a different workout each time. Low-impact and higher intensity options will be provided throughout class to ensure each participant achieves their ideal workout goals.
Chair Yoga AOA ages 14+
This 60 minute class will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Core Focus Together ages 14+
Train like an athlete in 30-action packed minutes. A strong core, from your shoulders to your hips, will improve your athletic performance, help prevent back pain, and help strengthen your abs. Expert coaching and motivating music will guide you through functional and integrated exercises using your body weight, weight plates, a towel, and a platform - all to challenge you like never before.
Cycle 30 Together ages 14+
Gets you moving and feel better in only 30 minutes with a cardio workout that's as easy as riding a bike. Inspiring music and motivating coaching will get you to burn calories, improve muscular endurance, and building cardio fitness. Minimum height requirement of 4’ 10”.
Cycle Together ages 14+
Cycle Together is a huge calorie burner. It's a 60-minute cycling experience brought indoors. Chase the pack, spin the flats, climb mountains, and sprint to the finish. Feel the thrill of energetic benefits of interval training. Minimum height requirement of 4’ 10”.
Cycling & Core ages 14+
Work. Sweat. Burn. This 60-minute class offers 30 minutes of Indoor Cycling combined with 30 minutes of mat core work; providing participants with a unique workout that maximizes overall cardio and core endurance.
Deep Water Conditioning ages 14+
This challenging 45-minute class uses interval training techniques and the water's natural resistance to increase cardiovascular endurance while wearing a floatation belt.
Defend Together ages 14+
Defend Together is a gripping hour that burns a ton of calories and builds total body strength. Tap into the newest mixed martial arts movements done at a rapid-fire pace to smash your cardio fitness. This workout combines cutting edge moves with thrilling music. Express class offered (30 minutes).
Gentle Water AOA ages 14+
Activate your aqua urge for variety in just 45 minutes! Splash offers lots of fun, shallow-water movement to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special kickboard is used to improve strength, balance and coordination.
Joint Movement AOA ages 14+
This 45-minute class held in the warm water is non-impact and focuses on range of motion, gentle stretching, balance and postural awareness. This Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Exercise based class is ideal for people of all ages who suffer from Arthritis, muscular and joint discomfort, or recovering from a hip or knee injury. Come and see how this class can complement your current routine or get you started in reaching those fitness goals.
Keiser M3 Cycling
Learn how to utilize the on-board computer to track your progress, strength and keep you accountable in an instructor-led motivating 45-minute stationary cycling class. Minimum height requirement of 4’ 10”.
Line Dancing AOA ages 14+
This 90-minute class for all levels includes an introduction to steps, warm up, cardiovascular dancing to fun country music and a cool down.
Intro to Line Dancing also offered. This 30-minute beginner’s class includes an introduction to steps and breaks down simple choreography to fun music. It will prepare participants for the regular Line Dancing Class.
Lively Low Impact AOA ages 14+
This class is a 45-minute energetic, effective low impact and varied intensity aerobic class for those who like to move but don't want to bounce.
Sit and Be FitAOA ages 14+
This 60 minute class will allow you to move with music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living in this Active Older Adults (AOA) class. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Stability & Mobility Training ages 14+
This 45-minute class that focuses on stability and mobility exercises as a part of a functional fitness training regimen. Incorporates joint movements including shoulders, hips, as well as knees and ankles with a strong focus on improving balance and stretching major muscle groups. This class includes three sections of exercises: Functional warm-up to increase the blood flow, warm up and engage muscles. The majority of class is spent on a series of stability and mobility moves. Final section will be about flexibility.
Step ages 14+
Step up to improved aerobic conditioning in 45 minutes that's fun and challenging. New patterns and exciting moves keep you motivated.
Step by Zumba® ages 14+
This 45-minute class gives participants an awesome toning and strengthening experience that combines the power of STEP aerobics with the fun, fitness-party that only Zumba can bring to the exercise studio. Perfect for those that are looking for a new cardio option and wanting to feel the burn of a whole body workout!
Strength Train Together ages 14+
Blast all your muscles in 60 minutes with a high-rep weight training workout. Using as adjustable barbell, weight plates, and body weight, this workout combines squats, lunges, presses, and curls with functional integrated exercises. Dynamic music and a motivating group atmosphere will get your heart rate up, make you sweat, and push you to a personal best. Express class offered (30 minutes).
Waterworks ages 14+
A great 60-minute cardiovascular workout that's easy on the joints. This shallow water class uses the water's natural resistance to get your heart rate up and strengthen your muscles. Swimming skills are not required.
Youth & Family Balance & Flex Together ages 6+
This invigorating 45-minute mind-body workout is appropriate for all levels. Improve balance, mobility, flexibility, and core strength through yoga and Pilates fundamentals. Ages 6-13 must be accompanied by Parent/Adult. SEASONAL
Youth & Family Circuit Training ages 6+
This class follows an interval format incorporating both cardio and strength exercises using stations. In only 45 minutes it offers variety to families who want to share fun and adventure together! Designed for any level, you and your child can get the ultimate experience. Using a variety of equipment you can expect a different workout each time. Low-impact and higher intensity options will be provided throughout class to ensure each participant achieves their ideal workout goals. Ages 6-13 must be accompanied by Parent/Adult.
Youth & Family Cycling ages 6+
Keep your family time rolling with this 30-minute high-energy cycling workout. The instructor will combine various cycling techniques and fun music to ensure that both kids and adults have a good time doing what they enjoy. Adults attending class should be accompanying a child. Youth may attend alone & must safely fit the height requirement of 4’ 10”.
Youth & Family Fitness Class ages 6+
This 45-minute class offers variety to families who want to share fun and adventure together. We’re offing a different class each week so you and your child can get the ultimate experience! Classes may include family-friendly Zumba, yoga, cycling, cardio, strength or a combination! Ages 6-13 must be accompanied by Parent/Adult.
Youth & Family Zumba® ages 6+
Enjoy a 45-minute cardio dance party appropriate for all ages. Combine high-energy and motivating Latin and International music with unique moves that are fun and easy to do. Ages 6-13 must be accompanied by Parent/Adult.
Zumba® ages 14+
This 45 - 60-minute class that combines high-energy and motivating Latin and international music with unique moves that are fun and easy to do. Ditch the workout, join the party!
