Open Swim Updates | Greater Green Bay YMCA Skip to main content

February 2, 2021 - We have been seen a steady flow of swimmers and are hitting our pool capacity at various times. To better serve you and provide clarity on what the traffic in the pool is when you enter the building, we will be implementing a “light system” at each center. Based on the layout of each center, the system may look a little different, but the colors and their meaning will remain the same.

  • Green = good to swim!
  • Yellow = pool is close to capacity
  • Red = pool is at capacity

Here's where you can find each center's "lights:"

  • Broadview: You will be able to find the light color behind the scan in scanner.  The color will be a representation of the open swim area in the Main Pool and the Diving Well Pool.  The current capacity for open swim in the Main Pool is 12 and 18 in the Diving Well Pool.

  • East Side: You will be able to find the light color behind the scan in scanner, as well as in the lower lobby window. The color will be a representation of the Main Pool. The current capacity for the Main Pool is 40.

  • Ferguson Family: You will be able to find the light color near the scan in scanner. The color will be a representation of the Warm Water Pool. The current capacity for the Warm Water Pool is 6.

  • West Side: You will be able to find the light color near the scan in scanner, as well as in the lower lobby window. The color will be a representation of the open swim area in the Main Pool. The current capacity for the Main Pool is 25.

Please know that the traffic in the pool can change frequently and space for open swim cannot be guaranteed.
