Janine has always had a passion for fitness. Since she was 16-years-old, she’s been going to the gym. Back then, her goal was to become a gym teacher, but after an experience with a personal trainer of her own, she realized that personal training was a great opportunity for her.

Janine has been with the YMCA for 18 years now, starting out as a swim instructor and eventually becoming a personal trainer where she has been encouraging clients to build self-confidence.

Janine’s approach to training is simple and effective:

“I listen to them, encourage them, and show them how they can do it, whatever it is.  I meet people where they are today.  If you are a beginner or have been working out your whole life - I want you to have fun and gain confidence.”

She understands that some people may be nervous to go to the gym...

“We can help you see the gym isn’t as scary as you might think.  We can help take away that anxiety.”

Janine grew up in Las Vegas and has moved around frequently with her husband who is in the Air Force. Having lived in two countries and five states, Janine has now found a home in Green Bay.

Janine loves to travel, especially out West where she can be near the mountains. When she isn’t in the gym, you can catch her with a good book or crafting!

Janine is inspired by the consistency of the older folks at the Broadview Y, she says their commitment to self-improvement motivates her to keep going.

In the future, Janine sees herself as a personal trainer with the Y still.

“…the Y is an awesome community. I have made such awesome friends.”
